An article by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, on ensuring that the self-reform of the Party is carried forward, will be published on Saturday.
The article by Xi, also Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, will be published in this year's sixth issue of the Qiushi Journal, a flagship magazine of the CPC Central Committee.
The 20th CPC National Congress demanded that the whole Party should always stay alert and determined to tackle the special challenges that a large party like the CPC faces, which is a major issue put forward by the CPC for exercising full and rigorous self-governance on the new journey in the new era, according to the article.
The article noted that the CPC, as the ruling party of a country with a very large population, not only boasts huge advantages in accomplishing major tasks and creating great achievements, but also faces special challenges in governing the Party and the country.
The article specified several issues that require further efforts to resolve, such as how to always stay true to the Party's original aspiration and founding mission, and how to always unify thinking, will and action of the whole Party. It noted that tackling the special challenges that a large party like the CPC faces is bound to be a long and arduous process, which determines that full and rigorous self-governance is an unceasing endeavor and that self-reform is a journey to which there is no end.
The article stressed forging stronger leadership and pooling more extensive strengths through the combination of carrying out strict management and oversight with encouraging shouldering responsibility.
It pointed out that the goal of exercising full and rigorous Party self-governance is to create a positive and healthy political environment that is conducive to pursuing development.
The article called for further efforts to explore and improve effective measures for exercising full and rigorous Party self-governance, thus better inspiring the motivation, initiative and creativity of Party members and officials.
